📍 Austin, TX 🌏 World Traveller 🎓 Centennial College 🌸 Hindi Enthusiast

Hi, I'm Shachi! ✨

I'm a storyteller at heart, bringing ideas to life across books, sound, and screen. My journey began at the Round Rock Public Library, where I volunteered to lead Hindi-English storytime sessions — and the rest, as they say, is a beautiful story in itself!

The Story Begins

That library program soon became a favourite, bringing smiles to children and appreciation from parents. That joy has remained a driving force in my work ever since. Eager to reach broader audiences, I studied Children's Media at Centennial College in Toronto, where I deepened my knowledge of how stories engage, inform, and support young audiences.

A World of Stories

My travel experiences have expanded my creative lens, deepening my understanding of different cultures and inspiring me to approach each project with a fresh perspective. Through every journey, I've collected stories, traditions, and the kind of human connections that make storytelling truly universal.

What I Do Today

I contribute a monthly column, The Picture Book World, to the Austin South Asian Journal, curating 3-4 picture books around seasonal themes to help parents discover titles that spark conversations and nurture a love of reading.

With a multimedia background, I've contributed to animated shows like CoComelon and Guava Juice Show, co-produced the audio documentary Living Without Borders, and hosted the radio show Austin On Da Go. I'm also the creator of Happy Hindi Learners, a YouTube channel that helps families explore Hindi through playful learning.
